Wittnauer Art-Deco Gold filled 1940-1948

Stunning square watch from Swiss/American Wittnauer. This watch was produced with a Swiss Revue Thommen 10S movement in a case made in The US. The case is gold filled, meaning that the gold cap is more substantial and thicker than on a gold plated case. At around 70 years old, this thing has lived a long life, but it's just as wearable today as it was when it came out of the factory all those years ago. 

Condition: 

Considering its age, the watch is in fantastic condition. There are marks and scratches on the case and case back. There are also some surface marks on the crystal. The dial has some patina, especially around the edges. Please take a close look at the photos as these are meant to portray the condition of the watch as precisely as possible. 

There is no documented service history, but the movement looks very clean. It keeps good time and has a nice amplitude, but has a beat error that is a bit higher than desired. Power reserve is tested to over 30 hours.

Timegrapher tested: fully wound, dial side up. Daily rate: - 8 seconds a day, Amplitude at 52 degrees lift angle: 250, beat error: 3,5ms. Please allow for some margin of error as watch accuracy is dependent on many different parameters.
